Every time someone says something like “man up” to me or makes a remark, or says anything that somehow judges me for not fitting into the stereotype of masculinity I am filled with simultaneous mirth and rage, because what is hilarious and frustrating about it is that they don’t see that by choosing to live how I want, free from rules and expectations, I am so much stronger than them. And it’s hilarious because they think that I am weak, and it’s frustrating because I don’t know how to make them see that the way they are viewing things is so ignorant and harmful to themselves and others.
